Drive Unit Test Connector - Tesla, INC

The purpose of this project is to eliminate misalignment failures on the drive unit test connector and increase reliability. As a secondary goal, to better dissipate the heat created by the High Current tests.

Role: Full Design and Manufacturing

Status: Manufactured prototype

ATHLETE BLOOD SAMPLING - senior capstone

The purpose of this project is to develop a self-applied, wearable device that can collect and store a blood sample automatically. An easier and less intrusive way of collecting blood can be used for drug testing on professional athletes, or for athletes to collect samples during training.

Role: Lead on Release mechanism subsystem

Status: Functional Prototype

Seal Retention Re-Design - Tesla, INC

The purpose of this project was to increase the retention of the seals on the test connectors. This decreased downtime and decreased the number of false failures.

Role: Design, Testing, and Deployment

Status: Design implemented to production line

Thermal characterization study - tesla, INC

The purpose of this project was to perform a Root Cause Analysis on the lack of connectivity between test connectors and battery packs. After identifying the root of the problem to be thermal excess from the connector: perform a thermal study to determine whether any design changes need to be implemented.

Role: Full Analysis and re-Design

Status: Implemented limits on testing and changed material for improved capabilities

Project Karman - Fin can

The overarching goal of this project is to be the first university-level club to reach the Karman Line (~100 km), which technically marks the beginning of outer space. Specifically, I worked on the fin can for this two-stage rocket.

 

Role: Co-Design & Manufacturing of the fin can

Status: Two successful launches

Mass spectrometer inlet - new objective, inc

The goal of this project was to alter the basic mass spectrometer inlet in order to add heat control capabilities and 3-axis movement.

 

Role: Full Design & Manufacturing

Status: Low-volume production implementation

LiteBrite - Enabling engineering

The purpose of this project is to develop a cost-effective motor and cognitive therapy device to promote the user’s basic motor and cognitive skills. User can select between three recognition skills for the user to work on: auditory, color, and textual recognition.

Role: Design and Lead on Programming

Status: Delivered prototype for user testing
